Seasons of the Soul – The Three Weeks

Rabbi Trugman – Shares with us some more esoteric wisdom about the Three Weeks.

Personal Thoughts – There are many different ways to teach about the Three Weeks and due to the content it tends to be very negative. I enjoyed the way the Rabbi didn’t beat down the topic again and gave it a more uplifting hopeful bent on this period of time in Jewish History.

Seasons of the Soul – Preparation for the three weeks

Rabbi Trugman – Shares with us a great synopsis of what the Three Weeks are about (both what happened historically during this period of time and the customs we observe now).

Personal Thoughts – Many people have asked me in the past to explain the Three Weeks – what they mean, what happened, and why it matters. This video lecture gives a good concise explanation. Yesterday started the period of the Three Weeks, so if things tend to lean negative there is a spiritual explanation for it.

Balak – Growing Through Numbers

Rabbi Trugman – Shares with us some deep esoteric wisdom derived from this week’s parasha (Balak) and the protagonist figure in it (Bilaam).

Personal Thoughts – The Rabbi brings some interesting parallels between science and Torah in this short lesson – I particularly liked the analogy of the movie film / time paradox.

Seasons of the Soul – The Month of Tamuz

Rabbi Trugman – Shares with us about the new Hebrew calendar month of Tamuz and the great potential of this month.

Personal Thoughts – Always looked at this month negatively as it contains the start of the auspicious three weeks ending in Tisha B’Av. The Rabbi infused some hope for me for what it may contain for us to grow and do tshuva.

Secrets of the Hebrew Letters – The Alef

Rabbi Trugman – This lecture was recorded on Erev Shavuot but the content is still very much relevant. The Rabbi reveals the incredible secrets of the Hebrew letters that are the building blocks on the very World in which we live.

Personal Thoughts – Great to learn about the foundation blocks the Hebrew letters represent and its depth.

Shavuot 5781

Here are some interesting videos about Shavuot from two different Rabbis. Now more than ever we need to learn with intent to connect with Hashem, the source of all blessings. The first video focuses on many of our favorite topics – the custom of eating dairy foods on Shavuot. Hope you enjoy!

Growing through Leviticus – Acharei Mot/Kedoshim

Rabbi Trugman – Shares with us about the weekly (double) Torah portion (Acharei Mot/Kedoshim).

Personal Thoughts – Interesting that the Hebrew word for Jewish Law is called “Halachah” which means “the way forward” and the book of Jewish Law is called the “Shulchan Aruch” which means “the set table”. Just two examples of the deeper (dual) meanings of common words in Judaism.

Tazriah/Metzorah – Growing Through Leviticus

Rabbi Trugman – Shares with that we can overcome and change through growth because Hashem gave us the ability to do so through (for example by counting the Omer – “Make Our Time Count”).

Personal Thoughts – Current event messages are a wake up call – parallel to the weekly parasha.

Vayechi – Growing Through Genesis

Rabbi Avraham Arieh Trugman – Through this weeks parsha we learn many spiritual concepts through the blessing Yaakov gives Ephraim and Menashe, including the Sefirot (common term in Kabalah) and enclothment.

Personal Thoughts – The video started off slow for me but it was just the setup for some very deep spiritual concepts. In the last 1/3 of the lecture the Rabbi talks about the concept of enclothment which was very enlightening and certainly shed some light for me about why the World is the way it is. Hope you get a lot out of it.
