!Short Clip! Bread in the Basket – Behar (Rabbi Dovid Kaplan) (Weekly Parsha)

Rabbi David Kaplan – Shares in this !Short Clip! about Shmitta teaching us about faith and furthermore that when it comes to us we are responsible to have faith but when it comes to others needs we do not rely on faith but take action to help others (spirituality through action). !Shabbat Shalom! Perfect Marriages – Emor (Rabbi Dovid Kaplan) (Weekly Parsha)

Rabbi David Kaplan – Shares about how the Kohen Gadol is the closest representative on Earth to Adam Ha-rishon before the original sin (who represented perfection). Adam was not subject to death or illness and was to be eternally married to Chava (Eve) prior to that original sin. The Kohen Gadol reminds us of that in that he was restricted from marrying only someone who was never with a man before, could not be in contact with anyone (even a close family member) who dies, and could not serve in the Beis Hamikdash (the Temple) if he had a physical imperfection (parallel to an illness).

!Shabbat Shalom! The Three Pillars – Vayakhel (Rabbi Dovid Kaplan) (Weekly Parsha)

Rabbi David Kaplan – Three sins are sourced in the original sin of Adam and Eve – Desire, Jealousy, and Kavod. These three show themselves both to repeat and to repent/tikun (fix) from throughout Jewish history. During the time of the flood of Noah and the tower of Babel they repeat. During the time of the three Avot (Avraham, Yitzhak, and Yaakov) and the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai they fix. This weeks parasha reveals the parts for the construction of the Mishkan (the Temple in desert) which fixes by manifesting the parts (the physical) into and representing the spiritual. This fixes and helps bring tikun to fix those three sins that make up the original sin of Man. Shabbat Shalom!

Pidyon Haben Ceremony 2024 (Rabbi Dovid Kaplan)

Rabbi David Kaplan – Shares about the ceremony called a Pidyon Haben which directly comes from the Torah (Mitzvah D’Oraita). If you are a first born son you may be required to have this relatively simple ceremony performed by a Kohen (a member of the priestly tribe decending from Aaron Hakohen). There are some disqualifying attributes that nulify the need for this ceremony which Rabbi Kaplan explains in the video. The person in the video who is the main participant in the ceremony is newly religious (Bal Teshuva – returning to Hashem) and realized he did not have this done when he was a baby and has taken it upon himself to right this error.
