Rabbi David Yisrael Kalmus – In another live class in Eretz Yisroel, Rabbi Kalmus shares with us the ultimate solution to this generations constant battle with depression, sadness, lack of fulfillment, etc. It’s not a direct head-on approach to seek happiness – it’s to get closer to Hashem which will, in turn, result in that which we seek.
Personal Thoughts – Although there was some back and forth discussion with some of the talk’s participants which causes some distraction from the message try to stick with it as the message that is revealed is as profound as it is simple.

Rabbi David Yisrael Kalmus – shares how the key to connection with Hashem is through the mitzvot and how the physical is a reflection of the spiritual.
Personal Thoughts – This is a very deep lecture (although there are some distractions so keep that in mind when watching it). Sometimes when I can’t get any clarity while doing various mitvot it plain just confuses me – this video helped put some things together more concretely that everything is just part of a master plan. It was pretty deep so I needed to review it multiple times. Hope you enjoy it. Personal Thoughts – This video taught me a comprehensive approach with actionable items to achieve happiness. Judaism gives me some incredible tools and resources to do this – grateful for this! Starts out a bit slow but by the end it really is a great video. Enjoy!

Rabbi David Yisrael Kalmus shares some of Rabbi Nachman’s Torah on how to avoid pursuing things that are hurtful to us and focus on find those things that are beneficial to us and answering important questions like “why do I constantly feel despair?” or “Why do I feel sadness?”
Personal Thoughts: In the video Rabbi Kalmus gives over some practical ways for me to deal with despair and sadness. A suggested exercise about going on a news and social media diet can be found at the 49:00 mark of the video (I tried it and it helped me increase happiness). However, I do recommend listening to the parts leading up to the exercise for proper context. Also, he tells a very powerful personal story about his cousin that was in a coma and his miraculous recovery starting at the 56:25 mark. Enjoy!
