Rabbi Alon Anava – Within this lecture starting at the 35:41 mark, Rabbi Anava explains the progressive strategy of the four historical anti-Semites as the Midrash explains: Esav, Pharaoh, Haman, Gog. Esav learned from the mistake of Cain who killed his brother (Abel) in the beginning of Bresheit (Genesis), Pharaoh learned from the mistake of Esav who wanted to kill the Father of the Jewish people (Jacob), Haman learned from the mistake of Pharaoh who wanted to kill all Jewish males, and lastly Gog learned from the mistake of Haman who wanted to exterminate the entire Jewish people. Gog wants to take the fight directly to Hashem (chas ve shalom). Gog’s path is playing out before our eyes today and Rabbi Anava shows specific examples of this in current events. Our prophets comfort us and tell us that Gog will not succeed in his plans.
